The Mills of Peterborough County

In the last 180 years, approximately 200 mills were built-in Peterborough County.  Milling, one of Peterborough’s earliest industries played a vital role in the development of the area and the livelihood of its residents.  Mills were instrumental for survival, without them there would not be lumber for building or more importantly flour for nourishment.
