While Mindin the Store

This soft cover, perfect bound book of 190 pages is the long awaited publication from Mike Towns of Douro. The book is a collection of short stories and photographs drawn from the work of Mike Towns and his father before him. The images give a view of this small rural Ontario community from the 1940s onward. In addition, there are some photographic contributions from other community sources, thus presenting a view leading back to the early 1900s. Loosely grouped together into chapters of popular interest, the book covers a look at such aspects of community life as “The Four Corners” (being the hamlet of Douro), Music, School Days, St. Joseph’s Parish, The (Towns) Store and events at Douro.
