Early Douro Settlers and Families

Eight years of research rests behind the making of this fantastic publication about the families who settled in Douro Township. Beginning with the earliest located settlers, short biographical presentations have been created about each family. Early Douro Settlers and Families traces progress of the township as children grew to adulthood, married and and in their turn settled down to raise their own families.

The focus is upon those who remained a part of the fabric of Douro Township. However, when descendants left to make homes in other places, if we learned about their location, it is mentioned.

A wonderful historical overview of the lives of those who resided in the township. From the earliest days of the 1800s up until 1870, this book is packed with details about those who have called Douro home.
