Mrs. Simcoe’s diary, describing Canada from 1791 to 1796, is history written as it was being made.  Mrs. John Graves Simcoe, wife of the first Governor of Upper Canada sailed from England with two of her six children in September 1791, when the land she left was at the height of prosperity and fashion. The diary documents great events in a familiar way and opens our eye to a side of Canadian history that is too little known.  This edition contains not only Mrs. Simcoe’s complete diary, but also maps and some of her water-colour drawings.
